📅 Parents Prepare: Writing Effective IEPs (English)

🗓 March 18
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📌 Register today to attend

This comprehensive workshop provides parents and families with a strong foundation in special education laws and practical tools for writing effective IEPs. Participants will learn strategies for effective communication, letter writing, record keeping, documentation, and the steps to take if you disagree with the school team.

An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is an important legal document that outlines your child’s learning needs, the services the school will provide, and how progress will be measured. The more you understand the IEP process and the law that supports it — the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) — the better prepared you’ll be to advocate for your child.

This training will cover:
• The 6 Principles of IDEA
• The Eligibility Process
• IEP Attendees, Process, and Timeline
• Service Delivery
• Legal Protections – Procedural Safeguards

If CARES CPRC can support your family in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to request free support if you are new to CARES, or reach out to a staff member who has helped you before.

We’re here to walk alongside you on your advocacy journey.
