Families are the most important people in a child’s life. They know their child better than anyone else and experience both their child’s joys and challenges every day.

Join us for this helpful training to learn about the transition from Early Start services to school-based services and what happens as your child approaches age three. This session will help families better understand the process and feel more prepared to participate in planning for their child’s next steps.

You’ll learn about the transition from an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) to an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and how the law — the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) — supports children and families during this process.

This training will cover:
• Introduction: Families Are Important
• Early Intervention Law & Overview
• Early Intervention Services: Who, What, & Where
• How Do I Start? Screening & Evaluation
• The Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) Process
• Child & Family Outcomes
• Procedural Safeguards

If CARES CPRC can support your family in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to support families — whether you are new to CARES or would like to reconnect with a staff member who has helped you before. 🤝
