All about IEPs: What you need to know

If your child receives special education services, he/she must have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). An IEP is an important legal document that spells out your child’s learning needs, the services the school will provide and how progress will be measured. The more you know about the IEP process and the law that provides for IEPs, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the better you’ll be able to advocate.
