More about an IEP Binder
A IEP binder can be as simple or detailed as you want it to be. The most important thing is to organize your documents. They must be easy to find when you need them. Start with a basic 3-ring binder and section dividers which we will provide, then you can gather your materials and label your dividers. We recommend parents to keep an updated photo on the very front of the binder, this helps the team stay focused on the child’s individual needs and goals. Organizing a binder with your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), evaluation reports, and other paperwork can help you prepare for IEP meetings. The binder can also help you stay up to date on your child’s progress and partner with the school. This training will help you learn how to make and use an IEP binder.

Participants who R
egister and Attend this Training will be Provided 1 IEP Binder Starter Kit FREE Per Family that includes:

  • Binder
  • Tab dividers
  • Pen
  • Highlighter
  • Pencil pouch
  • Resources

    Note:
Please bring your child’s most recent IFSP, IEP or 504 documents with you to this training.

More about the training —

All about IEPs: What you need to know

If your child receives special education services, he/she must have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). An IEP is an important legal document that spells out your child’s learning needs, the services the school will provide and how progress will be measured. The more you know about the IEP process and the law that provides for IEPs, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the better you’ll be able to advocate.

This training will cover:

  • 6 Principles of IDEA
  • Eligibility Process
  • The IEP Attendees, Process and Timeline
  • Service delivery
  • Legal Protection – Procedural Safeguards

Don’t miss this workshop and the opportunity to learn more about IDEA and how to be a more effective IEP team member.
