SUMMARY:IEP Training & Build a IEP Binder Training (English)
DESCRIPTION:Register here/Regístrate aquí \nYou are invited to our IEP Training & Binder Training\nMore about an IEP Binder \nA IEP binder can be as simple or detailed as you want it to be. The most important thing is to organize your documents. They must be easy to find when you need them. Start with a basic 3-ring binder and section dividers which we will provide\, then you can gather your materials and label your dividers. We recommend parents to keep an updated photo on the very front of the binder\, this helps the team stay focused on the child’s individual needs and goals. Organizing a binder with your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)\, evaluation reports\, and other paperwork can help you prepare for IEP meetings. The binder can also help you stay up to date on your child’s progress and partner with the school. This training will help you learn how to make and use an IEP binder. \nSupplies to build your IEP Binder *reuse/recyle supplies encouraged  \n\nBinder\nTab dividers\nPen\nHighlighter\nPencil pouch\nResources\nYour child’s most recent IFSP\, IEP or 504 documents\nAssessments that have been done over the last year\nA copy of your procedural safeguards\nOther documentations you would like to add to the IEP Binder to personalize it\nAn up to date photograph of your child\n\n \nMore about the IEP Training \nAll about IEPs: What you need to know If your child receives special education services\, he/she must have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). An IEP is an important legal document that spells out your child’s learning needs\, the services the school will provide and how progress will be measured. The more you know about the IEP process and the law that provides for IEPs\, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)\, the better you’ll be able to advocate. \nThis training will cover: \n\n6 Principles of IDEA\nEligibility Process\nThe IEP Attendees\, Process and Timeline\nService delivery\nLegal Protection – Procedural Safeguards\n\nDon’t miss this workshop and the opportunity to learn more about IDEA and how to be a more effective IEP team member.
